French Reef

This is an excellent reef close to shore for both beginners and advanced divers. Depths range from 12 to 25 feet and all varieties of fish abound in large numbers.  Please note that you cannot dive this site from the shore, this is a boat dive. It is often used a second or third stop for a multi-tank dive.

Just perfect for photographers interested in close-up work.

French Reef

The Maze
Close to Philipsburg this is a site that quiet a few of the dive shops go to on a regular basis. At depths of 25 to 55 feet the reef offers some mini-cave diving along the sides. Turtles, rays and large French angelfish are common. Sharks have been known to cruise through this site as well. This is a good place for the photo enthusiast.

Occasionally there can be a strong surface current.

Long Bay Reef
This reef is well in the lee of the Island and is almost an all weather site. The reef is in 20 to 35 feet of water and offers a good variety of marine life, including some very friendly red grouper.

Currents here can catch you unawares, so be careful. Anchor in the lee of the reef in 35 feet of water on a sandy bottom. Drag that hook in well!

Tug Boat Annie
A white buoy marks the last resting place of "Annie", a 40 foot tugboat lying upright on a sandy bottom in 25 to 30 feet of water. Another photographers dream, teeming with reef fish and micro-life. It's also an excellent night dive. But keep an eye out fot that old eel that inhabits a tyre there.

In calm conditions only, anchor to the east of the dive sight, well away from the wreck, in 17 to 23 feeet of water. Definitely don't moor your boat to the site marker or snag your boat on the wreck.

Spanish Rock
At depths of 10 to 25 feet Spanish Rock is a shallow dive with many channels and ravines to explore. Fish life here is usually plentiful but watch sea conditions very carefully. They can turn very rough.

Anchor in the lee of the rock site in about 25 feet of water.
